Leadership
Senior project finance expertise at its core.
Johannes Horstmann is a senior project finance professional with close to 20 years of experience advising on infrastructure transactions. He has worked on more than 50 deals exceeding $20 billion in value — spanning renewable energy, conventional power, water, gas, district heating, hydrogen and social infrastructure.
He founded J Advisory in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2018.
Johannes operates at the intersection of project finance and corporate finance. His core expertise is the financial advisory of complex infrastructure transactions, including financial modelling — the work that drove him to develop the J-SOLVE financial model environment. Beyond modelling, he provides end-to-end transaction support: structuring, lender negotiation, hedging, bid strategy, financial due diligence and capital raising.
He is recognised both as a financial modelling expert and as an energy market specialist, with particular depth in pricing strategy and commercial analysis for regulated and contracted utility assets.
